The Prime Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to implementing the reform and described it as a major step towards strengthening India’s democratic framework.
In his letter, the Prime Minister began with a traditional greeting and highlighted the importance of April 14, the birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar. He paid tribute to the architect of the Constitution and recognised his contribution to shaping India’s democratic and constitutional values.
PM Modi said Parliament will reconvene on April 16 to discuss a constitutional amendment linked to the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam and expressed confidence in strong support for it, especially among women aiming to build a ‘Viksit Bharat’. He praised women’s growing role across sectors, calling it one of modern India’s most positive trends, and highlighted their success in sports, start-ups, science, and other fields, along with the impact of Self-Help Groups and ‘Lakhpati Didis’.
Recalling India’s early grant of equal voting rights, PM Modi noted that women’s legislative representation has long remained incomplete despite consensus. He stressed that greater participation of women is key to achieving the 2047 vision of a developed India and called the 2023 law a historic step.
The Prime Minister urged public support for the Bill and encouraged MPs to act, extending festive greetings and hoping for its timely passage.
