India’s leading universities are making a significant impact on the global education landscape.

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kolkata and the University of Hyderabad have earned places in LinkedIn’s Top MBA Programmes 2025 list.

While American universities continue to dominate the rankings, these Indian institutions have captured international attention through their leadership, innovation, and strategic academic initiatives.

Under the leadership of Professor Alok Kumar Rai, the newly appointed Director and former Vice-Chancellor of Lucknow University, IIM Kolkata has entered a new era of transformation.

Professor Rai has introduced a series of reforms aimed at strengthening global networking, leadership development, and industry collaboration.

He emphasises that Indian management institutions must evolve beyond traditional teaching models to prepare students for international competition. This renewed focus has placed IIM Kolkata firmly on the global stage, symbolising India’s growing academic confidence.

University of Hyderabad Highlights Intellectual Growth

The University of Hyderabad has also secured its spot in LinkedIn’s 2025 MBA rankings. Led by Vice-Chancellor and Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, the university continues to advance in research and higher learning.

At the 25th convocation ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor urged students to view intellectual growth as the ultimate goal of human existence. This year, the university awarded degrees to 1,717 students, including 242 PhDs, underscoring its rising academic output and commitment to scholarly excellence.

Ahmedabad University has also been recognised, following its participation in the Vice-Chancellors’ Conference held in Kevadia, Gujarat. The institution reaffirmed its dedication to innovation and entrepreneurship, in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Similarly, Bangalore University found a place in the rankings under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor SM Jayakar. During its 60th convocation, the university conferred honorary doctorates upon notable figures, including UT Khader, celebrating diversity and academic excellence.

The inclusion of these four universities highlights a broader trend: India’s higher education sector is evolving from a national framework into a global force. Through visionary leadership and academic innovation, institutions such as IIM Kolkata and the University of Hyderabad are redefining India’s presence in global education.
