PM Modi Underlines Youth, Reforms & Innovation As Pillars Of India’s Progress

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday highlighted an article authored by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri that captures India’s developmental philosophy built on scale, skill, and self-reliance.

Sharing the article on X, the Prime Minister drew attention to India’s steady economic progress at a time when several developed nations are turning inward.

PM Modi wrote, “Union Minister Shri @HardeepSPuri highlights that while developed nations are turning inward, India is charting a different path through scale, skill and self-reliance. He notes that reforms, digital innovation and a youthful workforce are powering India’s rise as the world’s growth engine.”

Puri emphasised in his article that reforms, digital innovation, and a youthful workforce power India’s growth. “While developed nations are closing their doors, India continues to open new ones,” he wrote, asserting that these attributes have made India the world’s growth engine.

Symbolism of Self-Belief

Drawing inspiration from the Ramayana, Puri likened India’s economic resurgence to Hanuman’s leap across the ocean—a metaphor for self-belief.

He wrote, “As lamps are lit across India this Diwali, Hanuman’s leap reminds us of what self-confidence can achieve. Prime Minister Modi’s leadership has instilled that same belief in India’s economy—transforming adversity into acceleration.”

As global challenges mount, from tariffs to visa restrictions, Puri observed that India has chosen a path of confidence and openness.

He noted that while others retreat behind barriers, India continues to build bridges through trade, technology, and talent.

The article underscored that under PM Modi’s leadership, India has reinforced three unshakable pillars of growth — scale, skill, and self-reliance.

Moreover, this framework, Puri wrote, cannot be disrupted by tariffs or protectionist policies abroad.

He contrasted India’s youthful demography with China’s ageing population, noting that two-thirds of Indians are below 35, making the nation uniquely positioned for sustained economic expansion.

This demographic advantage, combined with a decade of reforms and infrastructure investment, has established India as the fastest-growing large economy in the world.

Economic Strength and Global Confidence

Citing recent economic data, Puri highlighted India’s robust macroeconomic performance.

The RBI raised its GDP growth forecast for FY26 to 6.8%, crediting resilient domestic demand and steady investment flows.

GST collections in September surpassed ₹1.89 lakh crore, marking the ninth consecutive month above ₹1.8 lakh crore, an indicator of healthy consumption and tax compliance.

India’s foreign-exchange reserves have reached $700 billion, enough to cover nearly 11 months of imports, while remittances in the June quarter totalled $33.2 billion, reflecting continued global confidence in the Indian economy.

Meanwhile, the manufacturing PMI at 57.7 and services PMI at 60.9 reaffirm India’s standing as a dynamic economic powerhouse.

The article further concluded that India’s economic journey under PM Modi exemplifies resilience through reform and confidence through competence.

As global economies grapple with uncertainty, India’s growth story—rooted in scale, skill, and self-reliance—continues to shine as a beacon of stability and opportunity.

Puri’s message, amplified by PM Modi, reflects a shared belief that India’s best growth driver is its self-belief—the conviction that the nation’s progress comes from within, and that its people are its greatest strength.
