Amit Shah Unveils ₹9,315-Crore Development Projects In Rajasthan; Boosts Women’s Safety And Digital Policing

Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Jaipur on Monday for his third visit to Rajasthan in the past three months, launching and laying the foundation stone for development projects worth ₹9,315 crore.

The event took place at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC), where he also inaugurated a state-level exhibition on India’s three new criminal laws, the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, which came into effect on July 1, 2024.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Deputy Chief Ministers Diya Kumari and Premchand Bairwa, along with several cabinet ministers, attended the occasion.

During the event, Shah flagged off Forensic Science Lab (FSL) vans, patrol scooters, and bikes designed to strengthen urban policing and women’s safety. He emphasised the government’s commitment to modern law enforcement through digital technology and data-driven tools.

The new fleet of scooters and bikes aims to empower women police officers, ensuring swift response and enhanced public security in Rajasthan’s cities.

Investments and Infrastructure Development

Shah also inaugurated and laid the foundation for projects worth over ₹4 lakh crore, based on investment proposals received during the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit 2024. These initiatives are expected to boost economic growth and attract industrial expansion in the state.

The government rolled out development works worth ₹9,300 crore across key sectors such as roads, infrastructure, and public welfare. The event also marked the launch of the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, offering 150 units of free electricity to eligible households.

The Home Minister oversaw a digital transfer of ₹260 crore as uniform assistance for students and announced a ₹364 crore subsidy for milk producers.

In a post on X, Shah stated that these initiatives represent a milestone in Rajasthan’s progress towards growth and empowerment.

This marks Shah’s third visit to the state since April. His previous engagements included a public rally in Kotputli, the Cooperative Conference inauguration in Jaipur, and the foundation laying of Parsmal Bohra Smriti Mahavidyalaya in Jodhpur.
