Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu congratulates Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the launch of the next-generation GST reforms and the commencement of the ‘GST Bachat Utsav’.
He says the move reflects a bold and citizen-focused vision for governance, directly benefiting households across India.
Posting on X after the Prime Minister’s address to the nation, Naidu states that the festive launch of GST 2.0 marks a ‘double celebration’ for citizens, delivering lower prices, simplified taxes and a more inclusive economy.
Reduced Slabs to Ease Daily Costs
Naidu pointed out that the new GST system reduces the number of tax slabs to two, 5 per cent and 18 per cent, with nearly 99 per cent of essential goods falling under the lower slab.
He explains that the reform will make daily life more affordable for middle-class families, farmers, women and youth, while also boosting business growth and attracting investment.
The Chief Minister urges citizens to take pride in buying and selling Indian-made goods, calling the reform a ‘gift to both the present and future’.
He highlights PM Modi’s mantra of ‘Nagrik Devo Bhava’ and the renewed national movement of ‘Garv se kaho, ye Swadeshi hai’ as inspirations for every household to adopt local products.
Naidu also endorses the Prime Minister’s call for states to become equal partners in boosting local manufacturing, calling it a strong example of cooperative federalism.
He reaffirms his commitment to building a prosperous and self-reliant Andhra Pradesh aligned with the vision of Atmanirbhar and Viksit Bharat.
