Drunk Thar Driver Kills Passerby In Delhi’s Central District

A drunk Thar driver killed a passerby on Sunday morning in the Rajendra Nagar police station area of Delhi’s Central District.

A drunk Thar driver killed a passerby on Sunday morning in the Rajendra Nagar police station area of Delhi’s Central District.

The incident took place at around 8 AM on Shankar Road, when the speeding vehicle overturned after the collision.

Locals caught the driver on the spot. He has been identified as Tushar Soni of Karol Bagh.

Eyewitnesses confirmed that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. Police said his medical examination was conducted at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.

Victim Struck While Standing on Roadside

The victim has been identified as 45-year-old Gunjan Luthra, a resident of West Patel Nagar. He was in the business of buying and selling cars in Karol Bagh.

On Sunday morning, he had stopped at a tea shop on Shankar Road while on his two-wheeler.

As he stood drinking tea, the uncontrolled Thar vehicle came at high speed and hit him. The impact threw him to the ground with great force.

The vehicle overturned immediately after the collision, and people rushed to catch the driver.

Police Launch Investigation

According to eyewitnesses, the drunk driver’s mouth reeked of alcohol. The accused, identified as Tushar Soni, was immediately handed over to the police.

A cab driver transported the injured Luthra to the hospital. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Police said they are investigating the case and will take further legal action.
