Adani Power on Friday reported a 27.1% sequential rise in net profit for the April–June quarter (Q1 FY26), reaching Rs 3,305 crore, up from Rs 2,599.23 crore in Q4 FY25.

Despite an early monsoon and a high base from last year, consolidated power sale volume rose slightly by 1.6% to 24.6 billion units (BU) in Q1 FY26, compared to 24.2 BU in Q1 FY25.

The company’s total consolidated revenue for the quarter stood at Rs 14,167 crore, lower than Rs 15,052 crore in Q1 FY25.

Softer merchant tariff realisation and reduced import coal prices led to the year-on-year decline.

However, revenue remained stable compared to Q4 FY25, driven by better sequential merchant realisations despite lower power volumes.

Calling the results a sign of strength, Adani Power CEO SB Khyalia stated, “Adani Power’s stable financial performance this quarter is a testament to its resilience and core strengths, even in the face of variability in power demand and unpredictable weather.”

“We continue to bolster our capacity through swift project execution and strategic acquisitions, ensuring we are well-prepared for future growth on our path to 30 gigawatts (GW) by 2030. By securing critical equipment like Ultra-supercritical boilers, turbines, and generators ahead of schedule, we’re reinforcing our competitive edge and supporting India’s growing energy needs,” he further asserted.

Capacity Expands to 18,150 MW

Adani Power’s operating capacity increased from 15,250 MW in Q1 FY25 to 17,550 MW in Q1 FY26, driven by the addition of Moxie Power Generation Ltd (1,200 MW), Korba Power Ltd (600 MW), and Adani Dahanu Thermal Power Station (500 MW).

With the July 2025 acquisition of Vidarbha Industries Power Ltd (600 MW), capacity has now reached 18,150 MW.

Power demand during Q1 FY26, subdued due to an early monsoon, contrasting the demand surge experienced during last year’s heat wave.

“Our commitment to sustainability and operational excellence remains unwavering, as we strive to deliver reliable, affordable power that drives the nation’s progress,” noted Khyalia.
