PM Modi congratulated the people of Andhra Pradesh for setting a new Guinness World Record at the ‘Yogandhra’ event in Visakhapatnam on the 11th International Day of Yoga.

World record for the largest yoga session

A record 3,00,105 participants joined the mass yoga session, setting a Guinness World Record for the largest single-location yoga lesson.

The previous record, set in 2023 in Surat with 1.47 lakh participants, has now been surpassed.

The Andhra Pradesh government organised the event along a 28-km stretch from RK Beach to Bhogapuram, turning the coastline into a global stage for wellness and unity.

PM Modi leads the yoga protocol

Prime Minister Modi led the yoga session by performing the Common Yoga Protocol alongside participants on RK Beach.

He was joined by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Governor S Abdul Nazeer, and several Central and State ministers.

Reacting to the record, the Prime Minister posted on ‘X’, “Yoga brings people together, once again! Compliments to the people of Andhra Pradesh for strengthening the movement to make yoga a part of their lives. The Yogandhra initiative will always motivate people towards good health and well-being.”

Guinness World Records acknowledged the milestone on ‘X’, stating, “Today an incredible 300,105 participants took part in the largest yoga lesson ever in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India – organised by the Government of Andhra Pradesh to celebrate International Day of Yoga.”

Leaders applaud Andhra’s spirit

Ayush Minister Prataprao Jadhav hailed the feat as a “testament to the collective spirit of every citizen.”

“Under PM Modi’s leadership, yoga has become a global movement. The Yogandhra world record reflects India’s timeless wisdom and shows what we can achieve together,” he added.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu echoed the sentiment, attributing the success to the people of the state.

“This record shows what we can accomplish when we unite with a purpose. Congratulations to everyone!” he wrote.

Human Resources Development Minister Nara Lokesh added, “And we did it! Heartfelt thanks to all the participants, TDP leaders and cadre, government officials, and everyone who contributed to achieving this remarkable feat.”
