PM Modi attended the Jahan-e-Khusrau Sufi music festival on February 28, marking its 25th anniversary.
The grand event, held at Sundar Nursery in New Delhi, celebrates Sufi music, culture, and Amir Khusrau’s rich legacy. The festival will conclude on March 2.
Cultural Significance
During his address, PM Modi emphasized the importance of such cultural events in enriching the country’s heritage.
“These moments are not only vital for our culture but bring a sense of relief to our hearts,” he remarked.
He highlighted the 25-year journey of the festival, acknowledging its deep connection with the people’s hearts as its biggest success.
Ramzan Greetings & Aga Khan’s Contribution
On the occasion, PM Modi also extended Ramzan greetings to the nation.
He recognized Aga Khan’s contributions to enhancing the beauty of Sunder Nursery, which has benefited numerous artists.
“It is essential to remember Aga Khan, as his contribution here has been a blessing,” PM Modi stated.
The Prime Minister further reflected on the event’s ‘Nazr-e-Krishna’ presentation, showcasing glimpses of India’s shared heritage.

He noted that Jahan-e-Khusrau carries the unique fragrance of India’s soil, linking the past with the present.
Modi also recalled how Amir Khusrau hailed India as the greatest country of the time, calling Sanskrit the finest language and Indian scholars the wisest.
Speaking about Sufi culture’s influence, PM Modi remarked that it deeply connected with India’s roots, enriching the country’s spiritual and cultural fabric.
Visit To TEH Bazaar
Earlier, PM Modi visited the TEH Bazaar at the event, which featured One District-One Product crafts, handloom artifacts, and short films on Indian handicrafts.
The bazaar celebrates the country’s craftsmanship and provides an opportunity for local artisans to showcase their work.
The Prime Minister also interacted with shopkeepers, showing his support for the promotion of indigenous crafts.
The Jahan-e-Khusrau festival, organized by the Rumi Foundation and founded by renowned artist Muzaffar Ali in 2001, continues to highlight India’s rich cultural and musical heritage.
As the festival celebrates its 25th anniversary, it continues to attract global artists and audiences, keeping alive the legacy of Amir Khusrau.
