Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday praised the role of ‘Nari Shakti’ in shaping India’s Constitution and made a strong case for a ‘united Bharat’ to fulfill the nation’s dreams in the 21st century in Constitution Debate.
Speaking in the Lok Sabha during the two-day debate marking the 75th anniversary of the Constitution, PM Modi said India is now recognized as the ‘Mother of Democracy’ globally.
Celebrating Women’s Role In Shaping The Constitution
PM Modi highlighted the vital contributions of women in the drafting of the Constitution. He noted that 15 women members of the Constituent Assembly played a key role in shaping the nation’s founding document.

He also pointed out his government’s focus on women’s empowerment. “We shifted the focus from women-centric to women-led development,” he said. “Through the Naari Shakti Adhiniyam Vandan, we ensured women’s active participation in democracy.”
A Call For Unity And National Progress
The Prime Minister urged all political parties, including the Opposition, to unite in building a stronger nation. “It’s time to celebrate unity in diversity and not let political motives divide us,” PM Modi said.
He then listed several initiatives aimed at fostering national unity. He explained that the revocation of Article 370 was a major step in achieving unity. “GST ensured economic unity by implementing one nation, one tax,” he said.
PM Modi also emphasized initiatives like ‘One nation, one ration card’ and ‘One nation, one health card’ through the Ayushman Bharat scheme, which ensure equal access for all citizens.
Focus On Digital Economy And Equal Access
Highlighting his government’s focus on the digital economy, PM Modi explained that democratizing technology has helped extend government benefits to remote areas. He also mentioned the ‘One nation, one grid’ initiative, which has connected urban and rural areas, removing darkness and bringing electricity to all.
In his address, the Prime Minister reiterated his commitment to building a unified, progressive India in the 21st century.
