Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is actively overseeing preparations for Maha Kumbh 2025, emphasizing the need for robust security measures to protect the millions of expected attendees. The event will feature an international-standard infrastructure coupled with a meticulous seven-tier security plan designed to create a safe environment for all participants.
Comprehensive Security Strategy
To safeguard devotees, the government plans to deploy over 37,000 police personnel, a significant increase compared to previous Kumbh events. This proactive approach includes ten distinct security operations to be implemented throughout the fair, ensuring a secure and seamless experience for attendees.

Recently, CM Yogi visited Prayagraj to assess the preparations firsthand. During a crucial meeting with officials, he reiterated the importance of maintaining safety at every level of the event.
Detailed Layers of Protection
The seven-tier security framework comprises:
1. First Circle: Screening at the point of origin.
2. Second Circle: Checking of trains, buses, and private vehicles.
3. Third Circle: Thorough inspections at state borders.
4. Fourth Circle: Security checks at zone borders and toll plazas.
5. Fifth Circle: Checks at the Prayagraj Commissionerate border.
6. Sixth Circle: Monitoring at the outer fair area.
7. Seventh Circle: Security at the inner and isolation cordon.
Increased Police Presence
For Maha Kumbh 2025, 37,611 police personnel will be deployed, including 22,953 officers in the fair area and 1,378 women police dedicated to ensuring the safety of female devotees. This increase marks a significant step up from previous events, which saw 22,998 officers in 2013 and 27,550 in 2019.

Advanced Technology for Enhanced Security
The event will also incorporate high-tech measures, such as AI-enabled CCTV cameras that will monitor crowds. These cameras will utilize facial recognition and real-time data from Technical Service Providers (TSPs) to enhance safety. Additionally, the Integrated Control and Command Centre (ICCC) will serve as the central hub for intelligence gathering and real-time monitoring.
