Heightened Monitoring As Taiwan Keeps Watch On Chinese Naval Activity

On Wednesday, Taiwan tracked 7 naval vessels operating around the nation. It was between 6 am on Tuesday to 6 am on Wednesday.

According to the Taiwan Ministry of National Defence, none of the aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait.

None of the aircraft entered Taiwan’s southwestern Air Defence Identification Zone.

The Armed Forces have monitored the situation and responded accordingly.

Taking to X, the Taiwan Ministry of National Defence said, “7 PLAN vessels operating around Taiwan were detected up until 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today. #ROCArmedForces have monitored the situation and responded accordingly. Illustration is not provided due to no PLA aircraft crossing the median line or entering our SW ADIZ during this timeframe.”

Earlier on Tuesday, Taiwan detected 7 Chinese military aircraft and 7 naval vessels operating around the nation. It was between 6 am on Monday to 6 am on Tuesday.

According to the Taiwan Ministry of National Defence, 5 of the aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait.

The aircraft also entered Taiwan’s southwestern Air Defence Identification Zone.

The Armed Forces have monitored the situation and employed appropriate forces to respond.

Taking to X, the Taiwan Ministry of National Defence said, “7 PLA aircraft and 7 PLAN vessels operating around Taiwan were detected up until 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today. 5 of the aircraft crossed the median line and entered Taiwan’s southwestern ADIZ. #ROCArmedForces have monitored the situation and employed appropriate forces to respond.”

Since September 2020, China has increased its use of gray zone tactics. This includes incrementally increasing the number of military aircraft and naval ships operating around Taiwan.
