Adani Total Gas Limited (ATGL) on Friday increased compressed natural gas (CNG) prices in Ahmedabad by Rs 4.45 per kg, citing rising procurement costs, limited domestic supplies and elevated global gas prices.
The revision takes the retail CNG price to Rs 98.47 per kg. The company had last raised prices by Rs 4 per kg in August 2026, taking the rate to Rs 94.20 per kg.
ATGL attributed the latest hike to geopolitical developments, reduced domestic gas availability and continued supply curtailments. The company said it was working to limit the impact on consumers while ensuring uninterrupted CNG availability.
Reduced supplies of New Well Gas (NWG) and High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT) gas have increased the weighted average cost of gas used for CNG sales. Rising spot liquefied natural gas (LNG) prices have added to the pressure.
According to ATGL, global spot LNG prices have climbed from around $10-12 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) in February 2026 to nearly $30 currently, significantly increasing imported gas costs.
The company said continued supply cuts by upstream producers had forced it to procure gas through alternative, more expensive channels.
Declining NWG allocations have further reduced the availability of competitively priced domestic gas for CNG consumers. An Office Memorandum issued on October 19, 2026, has reduced HPHT gas volumes available for priority-sector consumption, tightening domestic supplies further.
ATGL said the price revision reflected these mounting cost pressures while reiterating its commitment to maintaining reliable CNG supplies.
