Son Of Retired Police Officer And Karnataka Techie Detained In Connection With Parliament Breach
In a significant development, Saikrishna Jagali, an engineer hailing from Karnataka and the son of a retired Deputy Superintendent of Police, was apprehended by Delhi Police officials at his residence in Bagalkote last night. The detention is linked to the recent major security breach in Parliament.
Saikrishna, identified as a friend and former roommate of Manoranjan D, one of the intruders who entered the Lok Sabha chamber and released colored smoke, now faces charges under the anti-terror law, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. Both Saikrishna and Manoranjan were reportedly batchmates at a Bengaluru engineering college, and Saikrishna was implicated by Manoranjan during questioning.

Operating from his Bagalkote home, Saikrishna’s sister, Spanda, vehemently defended her brother, stating that he “did no wrong.” She confirmed the police’s visit, mentioning full cooperation with the inquiry and clarified that Saikrishna and Manoranjan were former roommates.
As the investigation unfolds, a total of six individuals have been arrested in connection with the Parliament security breach that transpired last Wednesday. The accused, including Manoranjan and Sagar Sharma, who breached the Lok Sabha, Amol Shinde and Neelam Azad, responsible for deploying smoke canisters outside Parliament, Lalit Jha, believed to be a mastermind, and Mahesh Kumawat, who allegedly aided Jha, assert their actions aimed to draw attention to issues such as the Manipur unrest, unemployment, and farmers’ concerns.
