Thursday, Kyiv stated Ukrainian military intercepted one cruise missile and 20 explosive drones launched by Russia in its latest nocturnal onslaught.

Three more missiles, however, were alleged to have impacted industrial installations in the Dnipropetrovsk region of Ukraine’s center-east.

The declaration came shortly after Crimea’s Moscow-installed governor announced that Russian forces had shot down nine drones over its territory with no casualties.

Nonetheless, one drone struck a village in the peninsula’s centre, shattering glass in multiple homes.

Drone assaults have intensified in recent weeks in Crimea, whose annexation by Moscow has not been recognized by the international community, as Ukraine wages a counter-offensive against Russian forces.

Since Moscow launched its invasion in February 2022, Kyiv has consistently stated it intends to retake the peninsula as part of its efforts to reclaim territory.

Ukraine has claimed some success in its counterattacks, while Russia has recently carried up heavy nighttime raids on major Ukrainian cities.

On Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that his forces were inflicting catastrophic losses on the Ukrainian military.
