A devastating maritime disaster has unfolded near the Malvinas Islands (Falkland Islands), with eight people losing their lives after a fishing boat capsized in dangerous waters. The vessel, flying the flag of Saint Helena Island, was on a toothfish fishing expedition when it suffered a hull breach and sank.
According to Argentine and Spanish media reports, the boat was located 200 nautical miles southeast of Puerto Argentino, with 25 crew members and two scientific observers on board, representing eight nationalities. A distress signal was issued due to severe weather conditions, with winds reaching 70 knots and eight-meter-high waves.

Rescue operations were launched, and 14 people were saved, including 10 Spanish nationals. However, the death toll rose to eight, with the remaining crew members still unaccounted for.
