The US President Joe Biden, American lawmakers, and American citizens were thanked for their support by Ukrainian President. This happened during his trip to the White House on December 21. Since Russia’s invasion in February, Zelenskyy has not previously been outside of his home country.
Biden told Zelenskyy before the conference in the Oval Office that Ukrainians “inspire the globe.” In his previous attempts to enter the United States, Zelenskyy said he had been unsuccessful. He made a point that the battle was “not ended” and that his country still had many challenges to face in its struggle with Russia.
“It’s an honour to be by your side,” Biden told Zelenskyy. While warning Russia was “trying to use winter as a weapon”. It was earlier reported that Biden would announce nearly $2 billion in aid and transfer a Patriot missile battery to help Ukraine strengthen its defences this winter. The Patriot air defence system, which can target approaching missiles and planes.
Russian missile and drone assaults have been relentlessly launched on Ukraine’s civilian population and essential energy infrastructure in recent weeks, causing power and water shortages.

The US President will provide
System operation training to Ukrainian soldiers in a third nation. Senior government representative emphasised that Ukraine would staff and manage the Patriot battery. Also that the US was not altering its military strategy.
A $1.7 trillion budget plan for fiscal 2023, which includes more than $45 billion in aid for Ukraine, will be sent to Biden by US senators by the end of the week.
However, it is unclear if Ukraine will receive meaningful support from the forthcoming Congress. Republicans in the House have vowed to scrutinise Biden’s financial assistance to Ukraine much more closely in 2023.
President Biden stated that he was “worried” that if Republicans won control of Congress, they would withdraw funding. Kevin McCarthy, the leader of the House GOP, has said that the US would no longer provide Ukraine a “blank check.”
