Russian Spy from FBI Found Dead In a Prison Of Colorado

FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) Agent, Robert Hanssen and Russian Spy was found dead in the prison of Colorado while there is no clear cause of death provided as of now. FBI is the most important investigating unit of the United States of America. FBI plays an important role in keeping all the secrets safe for the nation. The cold rivalry between the United States and Russia is very well known to the entire world. Amidst that rivalry, Robert Hanssen who was an agent of FBI was supplying information to Soviet Union in 1985 and then to Russia after the disintegration of USSR. He did the same for 20 long years.

Robert had provided a lot of the confidential information to Russia since he came in contact with the country. USA says that he has done a lot of damage to the nation. He was sentenced to lifetime imprisonment in the year 2002.

He was found dead in the prison on Monday. The prison authorities took the necessary measures so that he could be saved but the efforts went in vain.

Russia paid him fortune for spying

By the time he was arrested, he has been paid around $1.4 million in cash, bank funds and diamonds, in exchange for compromising numerous human sources, intelligence techniques and classified U.S. documents, the FBI’s website says. It was fairly difficult to figure out as to who was the culprit who was passing in the information to the Russians. It took about 300 men to actually look at how Hanssen worked and finally getting him arrested.

He was then sentenced to jail and was kept in a very high security facility. He was fairly a very important person who was much needed to be caught by the US officials.
