Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday described India-Indonesia relations as ‘strong and vibrant’ as he shared highlights of his state visit to Jakarta, where the two countries strengthened their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership through 20 agreements spanning defence, trade, digital technology, education and cultural cooperation.
Sharing a video of key moments from the visit, including his ceremonial welcome, address to the Indonesian Parliament, the highest civilian honour conferred on him and his interaction with the Indian diaspora, PM Modi said the growing friendship between the two nations continues to expand across strategic, economic and cultural sectors.

During talks with President Prabowo Subianto, both leaders agreed to strengthen cooperation in defence, trade, maritime connectivity, critical minerals and digital infrastructure.
Indonesia will expand its fleet of Indian-made BrahMos missiles, procure Astra BVRAAMs for its Su-30 fighter aircraft, jointly develop the strategic Sabang Port, and launch ION, a digital commerce network based on India’s ONDC platform.
India will also support Indonesia’s Election Commission in developing customised Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) for the country’s 2029 general elections.
Both countries agreed to integrate UPI for seamless cross-border digital payments and signed an MoU on steel, nickel and rare earth minerals to strengthen critical supply chains.
President Prabowo Subianto conferred Indonesia’s highest civilian honour, the Bintang Adipurna, on PM Modi.
The Prime Minister also announced IIM Bengaluru’s first overseas campus in Indonesia and reaffirmed India’s support for conserving the historic Prambanan Temple.
Calling himself a’great admirer’ of PM Modi, President Prabowo praised India’s progress and joined the Indian community event in Jakarta, where the Prime Minister thanked the diaspora for its warm welcome.
