Prime Minister Narendra Modi with his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese
Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed with his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese on Wednesday India’s worries about recent temple attacks in Australia and activities of pro-Khalistani forces in that nation.
The two prime ministers announced the completion of the Australia-India Migration and Mobility Partnership Arrangement, which aims to promote the two-way mobility of students, academic researchers, and business professionals.
Modi and Albanese also reaffirmed their shared goal of completing the ambitious Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) as soon as possible, which is expected to considerably enhance bilateral trade ties.
PM Modi said, “Prime Minister Albanese and I have in the past discussed the issue of attacks on temples in Australia and activities of separatist elements. We discussed the matter today as well”.
PM Modi further said, “It is not acceptable to us that anyone hurt the friendly and cordial ties between India and Australia by their actions or ideology”.
Modi thanked Albanese for taking action against individuals responsible for similar incidents.
“Prime Minister Albanese assured me today that he will take strict actions against such elements in the future as well”, PM Modi added.
PM Modi stated that the regularity of his meetings with his Australian counterpart demonstrated the depth of the India-Australia relationship.
PM Modi stated, “This is our sixth meeting in the past year. This reflects the depth of our comprehensive relations and the maturity of our ties. In the language of cricket, our ties have entered the T20 mode”.
According to Modi, the two sides also had a good conversation about strategic collaboration in mining and vital mineral.
During the talks, the two parties also agreed to focus on green hydrogen collaboration.
Albanese revealed in his remark that Australia will establish a new Consulate General in Bengaluru.
Modi was given a ceremonial guard of honor at Sydney’s Admiralty House before prior to of the talk.
