Israeli fighter jets attacked the Islamic University in Gaza City on Wednesday.
Ahmed Orabi of the university’s administration stated, “The intense air strikes destroyed completely some buildings of the Islamic University”.
“No one can enter it due to the fires, and the rocks and rubble scattered on the roads surrounding the university”, he told the media.
As the buildings crumbled, thick clouds of dust billowed into the sky.
Since the group’s fighters launched a shock cross-border attack on Saturday, Israel has launched a huge air campaign against Gaza’s Islamist rulers, Hamas.
At least 1,200 people have been killed in Israel, with over 900 killed in Gaza.
