Israel Says IRGC Intelligence Chief Majid Khadami Killed In Tehran Air Strike

The Israel Defence Forces said on Monday that it killed Majid Khatem-Hosseini Khadami, the head of the intelligence organisation of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, in an air strike in Tehran on Sunday night.

In a statement on X, the IDF said Khadami was one of the most important commanders in the Revolutionary Guards. It said he had built up military and security experience over many years.

The Israeli Air Force carried out the strike under precise intelligence direction from the Intelligence Directorate, the IDF said. It added that the attack took place at night in Tehran.

The IDF said Khadami took up his role after the killing of Muhammad Khatami during Operation Am Kalavi. It said he later helped gather intelligence for the regime’s senior leadership during Operation Roar of the Harrier.

According to the statement, Khadami worked to advance attacks abroad. It also said he monitored Iranian civilians as part of the regime’s crackdown on internal protests.

The IDF said he played a key role in collecting intelligence that supported terrorist operations. It accused him of backing plots against Israel, Jews worldwide, and American targets.

The Israeli defence ministry said his killing dealt another serious blow to the Revolutionary Guards’ command and control structure. It said the strike weakened their ability to carry out hostile activity against Israel and other countries.

On Sunday, the IDF also said it killed Mohammad Reza Ashrafi Kahi, head of commerce at the IRGC Oil Headquarters in Tehran. It said he managed commercial activity worth billions of dollars each year and helped expand the military capabilities of the IRGC, the Houthis, Hezbollah, and Hamas.
