On Monday, Israel revealed security camera footage from Oct. 7, showing Hamas gunmen who infiltrated into Israel chasing attendees from an outdoor music festival, with one killing a woman at point-blank range.
Israel is attempting to deflect world condemnation for its response to the Hamas onslaught, which triggered a disastrous war in Gaza. Despite rising calls for a cease-fire, Israel has stated that it will continue its war until Hamas is defeated.
“This is a war between good and evil”, an account linked to Israel’s Foreign Ministry claimed in a social media post accompanying the video footage.
The footage depicts individuals fleeing Hamas gunmen as they attempted to flee an event near the border on October 7 that turned into a slaughter.
At the end of the video, one of the ladies being pursued squats on the ground, with a gunman close to her. The gunman then raises his rifle and fires from close range at the woman, who collapses.
Although there is no soundtrack in the footage, a cloud of dust rises from the ground as he pulls the trigger.
The woman’s identity was not revealed.
Israel is under increasing pressure to agree to a truce in Gaza, where the Hamas-run government claims at least 13,300 people have been killed, including at least 5,600 children.
Israeli officials said they are determined to maintain the attention on Hamas’s slaughter of over 1,200 people, largely civilians, and the capture of 240 more on the bloodiest day in Israel’s 75-year history.
Western governments and many citizens have expressed great support and compassion for Israel in the aftermath of the Hamas attacks, but the Israeli reaction has sparked outrage.
