On Thursday, Yemen’s Houthi group claimed that they had launched joint aerial operations a withn Iraqi group, targeting ships in Israel’s port of Haifa, but the Israeli military denied the claim.
In a statement, Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sarea said, “The precise operations were carried out with drones in retaliation for the massacres committed by the Israeli enemy in the (Palestinian) area of Rafah in Gaza”.
Meanwhile, Israeli military sources stated that they were unfamiliar with such an incident. Witnesses from Haifa-based enterprises reported that the port was operating normally.
Sarea went on to say that one operation targeted two ships transporting military equipment, while another targeted a ship that violated the Houthi’s entry ban on the port of Haifa in occupied Palestine (Israel).
The spokesperson warned the Israeli enemy to expect additional operations.
To show solidarity with Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, the Houthi rebel group, which controls several cities in northern Yemen, including the capital Sanaa, began firing anti-ship ballistic missiles and drones at what they claimed were Israeli-linked ships transiting the Red Sea last November.
