Indian Diaspora Applauds Operation Sindoor And PM Modi

Members of the Indian diaspora in Japan have praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government for its decisive action against cross-border terrorism, particularly through the recently launched Operation Sindoor.

During a major outreach event at the Indian Embassy in Tokyo, many expressed pride in India’s robust and strategic retaliation following the Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April.

An all-party Indian parliamentary delegation engaged directly with the diaspora community in Japan.

The delegation, led by Sanjay Kumar Jha of the Janata Dal (United), included representatives from across the political spectrum: Aparajita Sarangi and Brij Lal from the BJP, Abhishek Banerjee from the Trinamool Congress, John Brittas from the CPI(M), and Salman Khurshid, a senior Congress leader.

Their visit aimed to explain India’s united political response to terrorism and to communicate the strategic intent behind Operation Sindoor.

According to the delegation, the operation marks a significant shift in India’s counter-terrorism doctrine—a ‘new normal’ that reflects growing national resolve.

Diaspora Expresses Pride And Emotional Connection

Members of the diaspora responded with heartfelt support. One attendee shared: “Until now, we always felt helpless when terror struck India. But after Operation Sindoor, there is a sense of pride. PM Modi’s decisive action made us very, very proud.”

Another participant said: “Operation Sindoor is a feeling of the heart. I have applied sindoor in solidarity. The name is both symbolic and appropriate.”

These sentiments were echoed widely, with many praising India’s military and the leadership behind the operation.

A speaker noted that India’s stance sends a clear message to those who attempt to destabilise the country: “India, as the world’s fourth-largest economy, requires political and national stability. Operation Sindoor shows our zero tolerance for terrorism.”

Strong Endorsement Of Modi’s Leadership

Several members of the community highlighted the leadership of Prime Minister Modi in steering the country through challenging security threats.

One participant remarked: “PM Modi handled everything perfectly. We are glad India has emerged stronger. That’s the kind of leadership we need.”

Criticism was also directed at the Opposition, with a diaspora member commenting: “Rahul Gandhi never has anything positive to say. That’s no surprise.”

Emphasis On Raising Global Awareness

The delegation underscored the importance of making the international community aware of Pakistan’s role in fostering terrorism.

“Many abroad may not fully understand the daily threats India faces. It is crucial that we expose Pakistan’s involvement, especially through its government and military,” said Sanjay Kumar Jha.

The Indian Embassy confirmed that during the event, the delegation outlined Pakistan’s involvement in the Pahalgam attack and detailed India’s subsequent response, which involved neutralising nine high-value terror hubs across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

A Call For Clarity: ‘Talks And Terror Cannot Coexist’

In a firm message, the Embassy reiterated India’s policy: “Talks and terror cannot coexist. Blood and water cannot flow together.”

Delegates also shared images of state funerals given by Pakistan to terrorists, highlighting what they described as ‘the real face of a rogue state’.

Jha contrasted this with India’s global economic rise and Pakistan’s internal instability. He added that the Pahalgam attack has had a devastating impact on the local tourism-dependent community in Srinagar.

The event concluded with a moment of silence in memory of the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack.

The Embassy described the gathering as ending on a ‘solemn but united’ note, reinforcing the resolve of the Indian diaspora to stand in solidarity with their homeland.
