India Club London
India Club London, which held historical significance related to India’s struggle for independence, has sadly closed its doors. This club, initially an Indian restaurant, later became a prominent center for the British South Asian community. It served as a second home for Indians living away from their homeland.
The club featured pictures of prominent Indians, including former Prime Ministers, on its walls. It was founded by Krishna Menon, who became the first Indian High Commissioner in Britain. Other founding members included Smita Tharoor expressed her sorrow, daughter of journalist Chandran Tharoor and sister of Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, among others.

Historian and journalist Shruti Basu lamented the closure, saying it was a heartbreaking loss for Indian history in London and had been a source of inspiration for her as an Indian journalist in the city.
New location to relocate India Club
Firoza Marker, who managed the club for several years, mentioned that they are actively looking for a new location to relocate India Club, offering hope for its continuation in a different venue.
