Hezbollah’s Chief, Hassan Nasrallah, is likely to address the public today following the funeral of Fuad Shukr, the militant group’s military chief and Nasrallah’s advisor, who died in an Israeli airstrike on Tuesday night.

Rescue teams recovered Shukr’s body from the debris in southern Beirut on Wednesday evening.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has publicly asserted that Fuad Shukr was responsible for numerous attacks against Israelis and described his death as a clear message that Israel’s reach extends globally.

Gallant’s comments emphasize Israel’s stance on targeting individuals it deems a threat, regardless of their location.

The ongoing conflict between Hezbollah and Israel has intensified since 8 October, with frequent attacks on northern Israeli territories prompting large-scale evacuations.

The recent escalation includes a deadly rocket strike by Hezbollah on 27 July, which claimed the lives of 12 children in a soccer field in the Druze village of Majdal Shams in the Golan Heights.

The killings of Fuad Shukr and Ismail Haniyeh are likely to further escalate hostilities between Hezbollah and Israel.

Analysts predict that these events could lead to intensified military actions and a worsening of the regional conflict in the coming days.
