This storm is likely to last over the weekend and pose dangers to a variety of systems, including navigation, power grids, and satellite navigation

Solar Storm

Starlink, Elon Musk’s SpaceX satellite arm, warned users on Saturday of a degraded service as the Earth saw the most powerful geomagnetic solar storm in a long time owing to solar activity.

“Starlink is currently experiencing degraded service. Our team is investigating”, the corporation stated on its website.

Previously, in a post on X, the tech mogul underscored the severity of the storm, stating that it had put the Starlink satellite fleet under great pressure and called it the biggest in a long time.

Elon Musk tweeted, “Major geomagnetic solar storm happening right now. Biggest in a long time. Starlink satellites are under a lot of pressure, but holding up so far.”, through his official ‘X’ handle.

The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration reports that a massive storm is now occurring, the largest since October 2003.
