On Wednesday, French President Emmanuel Macron stated that combatting terrorism does not mean flattening Gaza, referring to Israel’s response to an unprecedented attack by Hamas militants on October 7.

“We cannot let the idea take root that an efficient fight against terrorism implies to flatten Gaza or attack civilian populations indiscriminately”, French President Emmanuel Macron said.

He urged Israel to stop this response because it is not appropriate. After all, all lives are worth the same and we defend them.

While respecting Israel’s right to defend itself and fight terror, Macron asked for civilians’ safety and a truce leading to a humanitarian ceasefire.

The worst Gaza war in history began on October 7, when Hamas attacked Israel, killing roughly 1,140 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapping about 250, according to Israeli figures.

In response, Israel launched a relentless bombardment in tandem with a ground invasion.

Hamas announced on Wednesday that 20,000 people have been killed in Gaza, most of whom are women and children.
