Egyptian police have seized 1,945 ancient silver and bronze coins dating back to the Roman Period, which spanned from 30 BC to 395 AD, according to a statement from the Egyptian Interior Ministry.
Authorities arrested two suspects who admitted to planning to sell the coins. The arrests took place on Monday, as reported by Xinhua.

The investigation revealed that the suspects obtained the relics through excavation activities in a mountainous region of Egypt.
