On Saturday evening, President Droupadi Murmu will host a special dinner for G20 leaders, which will include a musical performance with ancient classical instruments like as the ‘Ravanahatha’ and ‘Rudra Veena’, among others.
The ceremonial supper, which will take place tonight at the Bharat Mandapam location of the G20 Leaders Summit in the national capital, will honor the country’s rich musical legacy, which will include a combination of traditional and contemporary music styles.
The performance ‘Bharat Vadya Darshanam’ – Musical Journey of India – by the ‘Gaandharva Aaradhyam’ ensemble will be featured during President Murmu’s dinner.
The G20 Leaders Summit, now in its 18th year, has brought together leaders from the world’s 20 largest economies.
“The three-hour-long performance at the G20 special dinner during the special dinner will see ancient musical instruments like Ravanahatha to Rudra Veena, as well as the tabla and piano, being played”, Minister of State Meenakshi Lekhi told media.
“We have the Hindustani and Carnatic music legacy. Specially abled artists will also play at President Murmu’s banquet. This would be an extremely proud moment for all of us”, Lekhi stated.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally greeted global leaders and heads of state at the location earlier today with handshakes and embraces.

The theme of this year’s G20 Summit – ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, or ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’ – is taken from the ancient Sanskrit scripture of the Maha Upanishad. The idea essentially emphasizes the importance of all life – human, animal, plant, and microorganism – and their interconnectedness on Earth.
This is India’s first time hosting the G20 Summit.
The G20 Summit is attended by Nigeria, Argentina, Italy, the African Union (represented by Comoros), South Africa, Bangladesh, the United Kingdom, and Japan. Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Egypt, Australia, Canada, China, the United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Indonesia, Turkey Spain, Germany, France, Mauritius, Singapore, and the European Union.
