The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has pledged to assist Bangladesh in implementing crucial structural reforms. A senior ADB delegation, led by South Asia Director General Takeo Konishi, met with Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus of the interim Bangladeshi government in Dhaka on Sunday.
The ADB expressed its readiness to support the crisis-hit South Asian nation, highlighting its long-standing partnership with Bangladesh. Konishi assured that the bank is eager to aid in the reform process.

During the meeting, Yunus emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating, “Everything needs to be done as quickly as possible.” He detailed the government’s plans to address systemic issues by establishing six commissions focused on reforming the judiciary, election system, administration, police, anti-corruption commission, and the constitution.
These commissions are part of a broader strategy to revitalize Bangladesh’s institutions and governance structures. The ADB’s support comes as a crucial boost to the interim government’s efforts to navigate the country through its current crisis and initiate essential changes.
