Following a road accident in the Dang District of mid-western Nepal, the police announced that at least 12 people including two Indian nationals had died.
Only eight people have been identified as a result of the disaster, which occurred late Friday night in Bhalubang.
“The passenger bus was heading to Kathmandu from Banke’s Nepalgunj when it veered off the bridge and plunged into the Rapti River. We have only identified eight passengers, two of whom are Indian”, Ujjwal Bahadur Singh, Chief Inspector of Police at the Area Police Office in Bhalubang, told ANI over the phone.
According to officials, an additional 22 passengers were injured in the bus collision.
The Indians have been identified as Yogendra Ram (67) from Malahi, Bihar, and Mune (31) from Uttar Pradesh.
“The bodies have been taken to Lamahi Hospital for postmortem”, the Chief Inspector explained.
