Even though she hasn’t yet found the proper life partner, 42-year-old British lady Sarah Wilkinson has devoted the last 20 years to saving for her ideal wedding. Her urge for a lavish celebration, however, persisted.
According to the BBC, Ms. Wilkinson decided to arrange a wedding ceremony as a result, bought herself an engagement ring, and celebrated the important day with her guests at Harvest House in Felixstowe, Suffolk.
Ms. Wilkinson, a credit controller, stated that it was a pleasant day to be the center of attention.
“Even though the ceremony wasn’t a legal marriage, I still had my wedding day. I believe there comes a time when you ask yourself, “Why should I miss out if I might not have this with a partner by my side?” She told the BBC, “That money was set aside for my wedding; since it’s there, why not spend it on something I want to do?
Speaking to BBC Radio Suffolk, Ms. Wilkinson revealed that she saved every month and added any additional windfalls, such as bingo winnings, before spending 10,000 pounds (Rs. 10,11,421) on the celebration.
