Veteran actor Paresh Rawal has confirmed his return to Hera Pheri 3, following a legal dispute with Akshay Kumar’s production company.
Rawal, in a recent podcast, said the matter is resolved after he returned ₹11 lakh with 15 per cent interest.
The film has been in controversy since May when Rawal announced his exit via X. Reports later claimed Akshay Kumar sued him for ₹25 crore, alleging he sabotaged the film’s shoot.
In a podcast with Himanshu Mehta, Paresh Rawal addressed the controversy.
He said, “There’s no controversy. When people love something so much, you must be extra careful. It’s our responsibility towards the audience. You can’t take things for granted. We must work hard and deliver.”
Rawal further added, “I only wanted everyone to work together. It’s all resolved now.”
When asked if the original cast is returning for Hera Pheri 3, Rawal replied, “It was always going to happen. We just had to fine-tune things. Priyadarshan, Akshay, and Suniel are all creative and have been friends for many years.”
Earlier, reports suggested Rawal exited the project due to creative differences with director Priyadarshan.
However, on 18 May, the actor wrote on X, “I wish to put it on record that my decision to step away from Hera Pheri 3 was not due to creative differences. I REITERATE THAT THERE ARE NO CREATIVE DISAGREEMENT WITH THE FILM MAKER . I hold immense love, respect, and faith in Mr. Priyadarshan the film director.”
Two days later, Akshay Kumar’s production house reportedly filed a ₹25 crore suit against Rawal. Akshay had acquired the legal rights to the franchise from original producer Feroz Nadiadwala.
In response, Rawal’s legal team declared that the actor repaid ₹11 lakh with 15 per cent interest. His lawyer, Ameet Naik, also issued a formal reply regarding his exit.
Rawal wrote on X, “My lawyer, Ameet Naik, has sent an appropriate response regarding my rightful termination and exit. Once they read my response all issues will be laid to rest.”
With legal matters settled, fans can now expect the original cast to reunite for the much-awaited Hera Pheri 3.
