Uber replies to the woman the cab driver texts, “Friendship karna chahta hun”

An Uber driver sent a woman unsolicited texts, and the woman took to X to voice her ‘ serious worry’ about the situation. After the journey, she received “inappropriate messages” from one of the drivers, which frustrated and angered her. She wrote to Uber to let them know about this “distressing situation.” The corporation responded to her tweet as well.

In addition to making me uneasy, this occurrence has given rise to grave security and safety concerns. I firmly believe that Uber should be a place where users, particularly women, can have confidence in the drivers and the whole experience. This experience has eroded that confidence, and I have serious concerns about the security of female riders who depend on Uber for transit,” X user Bhumika stated.

“I respectfully ask that you look into this situation very soon, find the driver who was involved, and take the necessary steps to make sure that similar incidents don’t happen again. She said, “I hope you will take this complaint seriously and prioritize the safety and security of Uber passengers.”

Bhumika concluded the piece by giving screen grabs from her chat with the driver. In addition to texting Bhumika, the screenshots reveal that the individual shared a photograph with her.

It was shared a couple of hours ago. It has had over 2.8 million views since then. Numerous comments have also been left on the share, one of which is from Uber.

Bhumika and Uber’s interaction on X

Uber posted a standardized message that said, “Hey Bhumika, I’m sorry to hear about the trouble.” Could you kindly send us a direct message on the phone number associated with your account?

We’ll check in again. In response, Bhumika became irate and asked, “Why are you not responding to my messages?”
