Longest kiss record
The longest kiss record has been discontinued, according to Guinness World Records (GWR), since the contest “had grown too dangerous.” GWR said that parts of the contest’s regulations were in violation of its most recent and updated policies in a press release published on its website. Additionally, it listed the rules and described the difficulties that participants would encounter in following them while attempting to beat the record. Guinness went on to say that the longest kissing marathon has taken the position of the longest kiss record category.
According to GWR, Ekkachai and Laksana Tiranarat from Thailand won the most recent longest-kiss competition, which lasted for 58 hours and 35 minutes.
The event started on February 12, 2013, and ended two days later in Pattaya, Thailand.
Nine couples participated in the yearly tournament, one of whom was in their 70s and finished after 1 hour and 38 minutes since the spouse was unable to continue standing, according to GWR.
“Four couples were still present when the previous record of 50 hours and 25 minutes, which had been achieved by two Thai guys a year earlier, was surpassed. Ekkachai and Laksana, who had previously broken the record in 2011, ultimately took home the contest’s top prize of 100,000 Thai Baht ($3,300) and two diamond rings for the same amount.
GWR stated that following the achievement of this record, the category outlining the requirements for the challengers was removed.
According to the rules, competitors could not eat or drink anything without their lips parting. They also had to keep their lips in contact at all times. The participants had to follow the regulations at all times and remain awake.
GWR said that because of the strict guidelines, participants were more likely to succumb to the risks of sleep deprivation, including psychosis. It also provided a list of some examples.
The longest kissing marathon, which has laxer restrictions, has supplanted the longest kiss as the new record holder from the record-keeping organization.
