Dr Rajeshwar Singh Slams Congress Over RSS Ban Remark; Calls It An Attack On India’s Soul

BJP leader and Sarojininagar MLA Dr Rajeshwar Singh launched a scathing attack on Congress following Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge’s statement suggesting a possible ban on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

Calling it a direct strike at India’s soul, Dr Singh warned that such remarks were part of a long-standing effort to erode Indian culture.

Using social media platform ‘X’, Dr Singh stated, “RSS is not just an organisation, it is national consciousness—the very soul of India. To talk of banning it is to attack the spirit of this land.”

Dr Rajeshwar Singh accused Congress of ideological bankruptcy and said the party’s mindset had always worked against India’s civilizational values.

He added that RSS had consistently stood for the nation’s service, security, and cultural identity.

“It was born from Indian soil and remains fully committed to the service of Mother India,” Dr Rajeshwar Singh noted.

Sangh’s service and historical role highlighted

Dr Singh presented facts and historical instances to showcase the RSS’s contributions. He emphasised that the RSS is not a political entity, but rather, a movement with deep grassroots presence.

“Over 1 crore trained volunteers, 61,045 daily branches, and over 80 affiliated organisations make it the heartbeat of India,” Dr Rajeshwar Singh asserted.

He recalled key historical roles played by the RSS:

  • During the 1947 Partition, RSS ran 3,000 relief camps for refugees.
  • In the 1962 Indo-China War, it extended support to the Indian Army.
  • Thousands of volunteers faced torture during the 1975 Emergency to uphold democracy.
  • It played a critical role in the liberation of Goa and Dadra-Nagar Haveli.

He said the Sangh operates more than 55,000 service centres and has a presence in over 40 countries, demonstrating its global reach.

Responding to Kharge’s remark, Dr Singh said “Those trying to ban the Sangh are clashing with the very consciousness of India.”

He challenged Congress by asking, “Is your dynastic politics so threatened by a national service organisation that you want to erase it?”

Dr Rajeshwar Singh cited several occasions where past leaders praised the RSS:

  • Mahatma Gandhi admired its discipline during a visit to Wardha.
  • Nehru invited the RSS to the Republic Day parade in 1963.
  • Indira Gandhi supported the Vivekananda Rock Memorial initiative.
  • Former President Pranab Mukherjee called the RSS a “laboratory of nation building.”

Dr Singh reminded that RSS was banned three times—in 1948, 1975, and 1992—but truth and justice prevailed each time. “Every time the Sangh returned stronger,” he said.

He also highlighted its social work:

  • 10 lakh students receive education through 35,000 Ekal Vidyalayas.
  • 30 lakh students study in 20,000 Vidya Bharti schools.
  • Organisations like Vivekanand Kendra, Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, and Laghu Udyog Bharti are transforming lives at the grassroots.

Sangh will grow, India will rise: Dr Singh

In his closing remarks, Dr Singh declared: “The Sangh will not perish. It will grow. With the Sangh, society will grow. Sangh will remain—and India will be created.”

He condemned any move to ban the RSS as a conspiracy against the nation and said such threats reveal the true face of dynastic politics.

Dr Singh’s strong response has added further fuel to the ongoing RSS ban controversy, with political tensions rising nationwide.
