Indian homes, in particular, cooks there food in aluminium utensils, believing that food does not burn on it and quickly cooked. Dishes of this metal is very popular and heavily demanded. Although experts have been advising against cooking and eating in these utensils for a long time, however, demand for aluminium dishes only rose up.

Notably, there was a trend in the country to cook food in silver, clay or even bronze utensils because cooking in them was good for health. According to a media report, about 60 percent of utensils around the world are of aluminium.

The reason for its popularity is not its health benefits but its quality which is cheap and durable, it also is a good heat conductor which makes it easy to cook food in it. However, experts are constantly discouraging people from cooking in it.

Along with Aluminium utensils, foils are also harmful

Over the years, rumors have swirled about high levels of aluminum leading to health risks, including Alzheimer’s disease and kidney disease.

When using aluminum foil or aluminum cookware for cooking, small amounts of aluminum can leach into the food being prepared. There is such a thing as aluminum toxicity, which happens over time and could eventually be dangerous to your brain, bones, muscles and other tissues.

According to research by NCBI (National Center for Biotechnology Information), it is good for the body to consume only 0.01-1% aluminium. Due to excessive use of aluminium, it leaks from utensils and goes into the person’s stomach along with food. It can become the root cause of many health problems in the body like anemia, dementia and osteo-malacia and then slowly starts harming the body. As per the information available, In India, aluminium utensils were first used by the British in Indian jails. The British used to cook food in these utensils and serve it to the Indian prisoners. Food cooked in aluminium utensils acts like a slow poison.
