“Galti Se Mistake”: Twitter on Its Rehiring

Twitter Requests the Return of Several Laid-Off Employees and Acknowledges a “Mistake”

According to Twitter’s head of safety and integrity Yoel Roth, the firm recently fired off 50% of its workforce, including members of the trust and safety team.

Thousands of individuals who lost their jobs are now receiving assistance from Twitter.

Following Elon Musk’s $44 billion acquisition of Twitter Inc, the firm cut almost half of its workforce on Friday. Now, on Sunday, the company is reaching out to the dozens of workers who lost their jobs and pleading with them to come back.

Some of those who are being asked to return were laid off by mistake. Others were let go before management realized that their work and experience may be necessary to build the new features Elon Musk envisions, the report said citing people familiar with the moves.

Yoel Roth, the company’s head of safety and integrity, tweeted earlier this week that Twitter just lay off 50% of its workforce, including members of the trust and safety team.

Teams in charge of communications, content curation, human rights, and machine learning ethics were among those eliminated, according to tweets from the social media company’s employees, along with several product and technical teams.

Twitter made its first significant change to the social media site under Elon Musk on Saturday, updating its app in the Apple App Store and starting to charge $8 for coveted blue check verification marks.

Reuters contacted Twitter for comment, but they did not answer right away.
