Donald Trump has pleaded not guilty to accusations of hiding classified documents including important military secrets and mishandling them.

Each of the accusations, made by Justice Department Special Counsel Jack Smith, carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. Trump has already criticised the prosecution and referred to Smith as "deranged" and a "Trump hater".
