Punjab NRI Affairs Minister Kuldip Singh Dhaliwal had raised with the Centre the issue of 700 Indian students, mostly Punjabis, facing deportation.

The meetings provided an opportunity for EAM to present India’s perspectives on global and regional developments, global economic recovery, etc

In an interview to DD India, S Jaishankar noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had met both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Earlier this month, a team of National Investigation Agency officials landed in the UK and met officials of Scotland Yard and Metropolitan Police in London.

The ninth round of negotiations for a free trade agreement between India and the UK was held from April 24 to 28.

The meeting will be held against the backdrop of media reports about Chinese insistence on a buffer zone, which would be detrimental to India’s strategic interests.

S Jaishankar was on a three-day visit to Sweden to participate in the EU Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum (EIPMF). He met his counterparts on the sidelines of the EIPMF on Saturday.

Jaishankar outlined six points reflecting capabilities, activities and endeavours among the nations of the Indo-Pacific

He said that the EU has major stakes in Indo-Pacific developments, especially concerning technology, connectivity, trade and finance. Jaishankar dealt with globalisation and established thinking at the forum.

"Making in India also involves thinking—thinking through our growth strategy and coming up with solutions." We have reflected upon it every time we have been confronted with a challenge," he said, citing COVID-19 as an example.
