First, Modi championed the cause of inclusion by inviting the African Union (AU) to become a permanent member of the G20 , giving it the same status as the European Union (EU).

On Friday, September 8, he addressed with the media in Brussels about his meeting with European Parliamentarians, during which he discussed the difficulties India's democracy is currently experiencing on the economic and social fronts.

Announcing the consensus, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "There is good news... With our team's hard work and with the help of everyone involved, the New Delhi G20 Leaders' Summit Declaration has reached a consensus".

The statement comes days after a huge controversy broke out over the shift to India from Bharat in the dinner invitation from President Droupadi Murmu to foreign leaders attending the G20 summit this weekend.

In their second bilateral meeting in less than six months, American President Joe Biden and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi committed to strengthening the bilateral relationship.

According to sources, during the bilateral talks, both the leaders also reviewed the ongoing bilateral cooperation in the areas of clean energy, trade and defence.

PM Modi has replaced his cover image with a picture of the Bharat Mandapam, the venue for the G-20 Summit.

Over three days, through Sunday, PM Modi will attend more than 15 bilateral engagements, according to sources.

“This year's theme is ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum of Growth. ASEAN matters because here everyone's voice is heard & ASEAN is epicentrum of growth because ASEAN plays an important role in global growth,” PM Modi said.
