In a recent ruling, Karkardooma Court has denied bail to Vikas Rawat, accused of mobile snatching in the Madhu Vihar area.

Delhi High Court has declined to expedite the bail hearing for Shifa-ur-Rehman, President of the Jamia Millia Islamia Alumni Association.

Judge Bajpai reminded the defense that daily hearings were planned. He warned all defendants that future delays will be taken seriously. The case, involving charges under IPC and UAPA, will proceed without further interruptions

The case was based on a complaint by Mohammad Munajir, who alleged that a mob set Fatima Masjid and nearby houses on fire. He claimed his home was looted and destroyed. Charges were framed against Singh and Kumar in December 2021.

The Karkardooma Court in Delhi has acquitted ten individuals in the 2020 Northeast Delhi riots case due to insufficient evidence.

Devangana Kalita’s counsel argued that she needs the videos to prove her innocence, accusing the prosecution of withholding supportive evidence

The accused include Khalid Saifi, Faizan Khan, Ishrat Jahan, Sharjeel Imam, Safoora Zargar, Salim Malik, Shifa-ur-Rehman, Shadab Ahmed, Gulfisha Fatima, Salim Khan, Tasleem Ahmed, Umar Khalid, and Tahir Hussain

After reviewing all the facts, the court concluded that there was no merit in the application at this stage and consequently dismissed it.

The incident has prompted legal action, with a case registered at Vivek Vihar police station under IPC sections 336, 304 A, 304, and 308.

The massive fire broke out at Baby Care New Born Child Hospital in Vivek Vihar, East Delhi, on Saturday night. Investigations revealed that the hospital's operating license had expired and it lacked a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the fire department.
