Justice Surya Kant

Justice Surya Kant is appointed as the next Chief Justice of India, from 24 Nov 2025, following the retirement of incumbent CJI BR Gavai.

The process to appoint the next Chief Justice of India has begun, with CJI Bhushan R Gavai recommending Justice Surya Kant as his successor.
