Gyanvapi Masjid

Hailing the verdict of the Allahabad High Court, Advocate Prabhash said that it is a “big victory of the Sanatana Dharma”.

The hearing on the plea challenging the Varanasi district court order that permitted Hindu prayers in the Gyanvapi mosque's cellar was postponed by the Allahabad High Court.

In the petition filed in the court of the District Judge, a demand has been made to open the secret cellars of Gyanvapi and survey it from the ASI.

The Supreme Court registrar was approached by attorneys for the Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee, who requested an immediate hearing.

The Vyas family was granted the right to conduct prayers in the southern cellar, adjacent to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, for the first time since December 1993.

According to Vishnu Shankar Jain, the lawyer for the Hindu side in the Gyanvapi Masjid-Kashi Vishwanath temple issue, the ASI discovered vestiges of a sizable Hindu temple inside the mosque

The Supreme Court halted an archaeological investigation of the Gyanvapi mosque grounds in Varanasi a few days prior to allow time for a legal challenge.

The mosque's wazukhana will be excluded from a scientific study of the mosque's grounds.
