Ahead of today's swearing-in, caretaker CM & Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde extended his congratulations to CM-designate Devendra Fadnavis.

The swearing-in ceremony taking place in Mumbai at 5:30 PM today will see the return of Fadnavis to the helm as BJP with coalition unanimously choses Devendra to represent new government. 

The Mahayuti alliance clarified the Chief Minister position by announcing Devendra Fadnavis as the next CM during a press conference at Raj Bhavan.

Devendra Fadnavis was unanimously elected as Leader of the Maharashtra BJP Legislative Party, paving the way for his expected return as CM.

Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Shirsat confirmed that CM Shinde would meet Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar later in the evening.

Caretaker CM and Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde was admitted to Jupiter Hospital on Tuesday due to fever and weakness, raising doubts about his participation in the Maharashtra Cabinet swearing-in scheduled for December 5.
