Delhi-NCR pollution

The Supreme Court has refused to lift the ban on the manufacture, storage, and sale of firecrackers in Delhi-NCR.

Delhi-NCR’s air quality continued to remain dangerously poor for the third straight day, with the AQI in the national capital reaching 409.

The Supreme Court affirmed the right to a pollution-free environment, stating no religion endorses harmful practices like firecracker use.

Air quality in Delhi plunged further into the 'very poor' zone, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) hitting alarming levels across the city.

Essential construction projects exempt from prohibition include national security, defense, healthcare, transportation (railways, metro, airports), infrastructure (roads, highways, flyovers, bridges), power, pipelines, sanitation, and water supply.
