Delhi Liquor Policy Scam

Arvind Kejriwal has requested a stay on the lower court proceedings. He has also challenged the trial court’s decision to take cognizance of the ED chargesheet against him.

Arvind Kejriwal, along with former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and BRS leader K Kavita, appeared in Rouse Avenue Court via video conferencing.

The Rouse Avenue Court has extended the judicial custody of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is currently detained in Tihar Jail.

As per the Supreme Court's order, Sisodia posted a bail bond of Rs. 10 lakhs with two sureties for each case involving the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED)

The CBI filed an FIR against 15 persons in August 2022 for alleged violations of rules and procedural anomalies in the new liquor policy.

Kejriwal said that this arrest during the election process will cause huge loss to the Aam Aadmi Party, while the ruling party will benefit.

Allegations have arisen from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), contending that authorities have put Arvind Kejriwal's family under house arrest.
