Rain interrupts the IND vs PAK game
At first glance, the India vs. Pakistan game at the 2023 Asia Cup appeared to live up to its expectations and deliver a thrilling match, but rain interfered in Pallekele. India made a remarkable comeback under the leadership of Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan, while Pakistan’s pacers, led by Shaheen Afridi, caused major problems for their hitters. On a field with unpredictable bounce, India was dismissed for 266, and pacers, led by the recently returned Jasprit Bumrah, appeared eager to take the strike.

Rain was expected to have some impact on the game, as it necessitated two quick pauses during the Indian innings. Group A is made up of the underdogs, Nepal, and the group tables, Pakistan and India. Pakistan entered this match having defeated Nepal by a score of 238 runs in their last encounter in Multan, whereas this was India’s first game of the tournament. With both teams earning a point from the postponed game on Saturday, Pakistan has reached three points, securing their spot in the Super Four. Nepal is currently in third place with no points, one point behind second-place India.
Sri Lanka has already played Bangladesh once in Group B, whereas Afghanistan has not yet started the competition. In that game, Sri Lanka defeated Afghanistan by five wickets, moving them to the top of the standings.

What India must do to qualify?
While India’s spot in the Super Four has not yet been determined, Rohit Sharma’s team’s advancement to the next round would only be in jeopardy if Nepal managed to upset the six-time champions of the Asia Cup ODI competition. India currently has no NRR, whereas Nepal’s is currently -4.760. But it doesn’t matter because India simply needs one more game to go without a result to qualify. The only way they can miss the next round is if they lose to Nepal in their upcoming match, which is set to take place on Monday in Pallekele.
